Who are the Compliance Team?
The Compliance Team examines cases where user conduct is called into question. By thoroughly reviewing these cases, the Compliance Team helps maintain compliance and keeps Topstep safe from fraudulent activity. Potential violations can include, but are not limited to, Terms of Use violations, fraudulent activity, or manipulation.
Who do I contact for an appeal?
You do not need to reach out to anyone regarding the appeal. Our Compliance Team will contact you directly. Please note that the Trader Support Team does not handle appeals.
Why can’t I appeal?
If you can't appeal, it's important to know that an appeal may not be possible depending on the severity of the Terms of Use violation(s).
How do I determine if I can appeal and how do I start the appeal process?
We will provide traders with the opportunity to submit additional supporting documents regarding their account status and dispute outcomes that were not in their favor. We understand that this can be a challenging process, and we are committed to ensuring a fair review.
Once you receive an email from our Compliance Team regarding your account, you may respond directly to the assigned team member with any additional information you'd like them to consider.
How long do I have to appeal?
If you wish to dispute the decision, please respond to the ticket at your earliest convenience.
Can an appeal be denied?
Appeals may be declined if our review identifies violations of our Terms of Use, fraudulent activity, or account manipulation. Our team conducts thorough, fair assessments to ensure all decisions are made with complete information.
If my appeal is accepted, what are the next steps?
If your appeal is accepted, you will receive an email outlining the terms and conditions provided, which you will have to accept in order to return. If at any point our agreement is breached, your account will be terminated.
What if I create a new profile?
If you create a new profile, your account will be closed and no refunds will be issued.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Yes, we do conduct KYC (Know Your Customer) checks. We have multiple verification processes in place to ensure that a trader’s identity is legitimate and that they are who they claim to be. These measures help us maintain a secure environment and protects Topstep from fraudulent activity.
Occasionally, traders may be asked to verify their identities, with each request evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
