A risk-free way to test strategies and explore products without impacting your primary trading account.

Updated this week

Practice Account Details:

  • All Practice accounts will be 150K, regardless of your active Trading Combine or Express Funded Account size.

  • The Maximum Position size for all Practice Accounts will be 15 lots.

  • You can have one (1) Practice Account at a time.

  • Practice Accounts will be labeled “PRACTICE” in the drop-down on your Dashboard and platform.

Traders with an active Express Funded Account or Trading Combine can access a Practice Account free of charge.

The Practice Account allows you to have access to a second trading account that allows you to test strategies, products, etc., without affecting your primary account. If you hit or exceed your Maximum Loss Limit in a Practice Account, it can be reset at any time for no additional fee.

Practice Accounts on the new Topstep Dashboard

Practice Accounts are available on the new Dashboard with an active Trading Combine subscription. If you only have an Express Funded Account or a Live Funded Account, you will not have access to a Practice Account.

To activate your Practice Account on the new Dashboard, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into the new Topstep Dashboard

  2. Click “Accounts” on the left-hand side of your screen

  3. Click "Add Ons" on the top left-hand side of your screen

  4. A new page with the option to activate your TopstepX Practice Account will display

  5. Click Activate

To close your Practice Account on the new Dashboard, simply follow the steps above, but the button will now say "unsubscribe". A new page will appear again, asking you to confirm the cancelation.

If you're having trouble adding a new Practice Account, or all of your Practice Accounts are closed, click "Unsubscribe" from the Available Add-ons section.

After clicking "Unsubscribe", click "Activate" to have a new Practice Account created.

There is no cost in the Practice Account.
