TopstepX™ Personal Daily Profit Target
Updated over a week ago

The Personal Daily Profit Target, or PDPT, is exclusively available on the TopstepX™ trading platform. If you trade on a different trading platform, this feature will not be available to use.

How this benefits traders:

A Personal Daily Profit Target is a specific goal that traders set to achieve within a single trading day. Establishing this target helps maintain discipline, enhance focus, and promote consistency in trading practices.

A few ways this benefits traders:

  • Better manage trading strategies

  • Prevent overtrading

  • Secure your profits

  • Customized limits create a more personalized trading experience.

👇 Helpful Tips 👇

  • By default, "Do Nothing" is selected if you don't choose Liquidate or Liquidate and Block from the drop-down menu.

  • Once an action is chosen, such as Liquidate or Liquidate and Block, it will be the default setting going forward. This means, in order to change how your Personal Daily Profit Target works, you'll need to update it in your Settings.

  • If you choose the Liquidate action for your Personal Daily Profit Target and then hit or exceed that number, in order to continue trading, you will need to increase your PDPT, or change your action to Do Nothing.

  • For example, if you set your target to $200, and were liquidated at $205 because the market was moving quickly, you must increase your PDPT to at least $206 in order to begin trading again.

  • The Personal Daily Profit Target is calculated on the net profit and loss, and it is updated in real-time.

  • Risk settings like the Personal Daily Profit Target do not carry over to copy-traded accounts. You need to set them individually for each account.

How to set your Personal Daily Profit Target

  1. To set your Personal Loss Limit, click the Settings gear.

  2. From there you want to select “Risk Settings”, to open up the Personal Daily Profit Target settings. This is where you can set the dollar amount of your Personal Daily Profit Target, and the action you want to take if it’s hit.

  3. You have three options for how your account will respond if the PDPT is hit:

  • Do Nothing: Continue trading as usual (functionality is disabled).

  • Liquidate: Immediate liquidation of your account. When you reach the Personal Daily Profit Target, all positions in the account will be liquidated.

  • Liquidate and Block: All positions in the account will be liquidated, and the account will be temporarily blocked from trading until the next trading day.

4. Make sure to click "Save" to save your changes!
