Topstep covers Level 1 market data (Top of Book) for all 4 exchanges on Trading Combine® (TC) and Express Funded Account® (XFA) accounts at no cost. Level 2 (Depth of Market) is available as an upgrade for $38/month.

The CME requires payment for all market data on simulated accounts. Topstep covers Level 1 for all 4 exchanges at no cost to you.

What Is CME Agreement and why do I need to sign it?

The CME Market Data Agreement is a legally binding document that lets you access real-time exchange data. As part of signing, you must declare whether you're a professional or non-professional user.

⚠️ Topstep Traders must always select non-professional status.

How to Sign It

The non-professional CME Agreement appears automatically the first time you log into TopstepX™. Just follow the prompts.

Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble getting the agreement to load or submit:

Reset your password from the dashboard
Clear your browser cookies and cache, or try Incognito/Private mode
Make sure all profile fields are filled in — including a 5-digit ZIP code. Clear any pre-populated fields and retype them manually
Try completing the agreement on a mobile device — many Traders have better results there

How to Purchase Level 2 Data

Go to the Accounts tab in your Topstep Dashboard.
Click Add Ons.
Select Depth of Market Bundle.

👉 Important: You'll be charged immediately and Rebilled on the 28th of each month. Data is not pro-rated — you pay the full amount regardless of when you sign up.

FAQs

Why is Level 2 Data not free?

The CME charges for all market data on simulated accounts. Topstep covers Level 1 for everyone. Level 2 requires an upgrade at $38/month.

Can I cancel Level 2 Data?

Yes, cancel anytime from your Billing page. Cancellation takes effect immediately — you lose access right away. Cancel on the last day you want access.

Is Level 2 Data pro-rated?

No. You'll be charged the full $38 regardless of when you sign up. Billing renews on the 28th of each month.

Can I get a refund for Level 2 Data?

No. Once billing is processed, refunds are not issued. Cancel by the 27th to avoid the next charge. You'll automatically move back to Level 1 after cancellation.
